When Sarah Sauvigne was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37, her children Maddy (age 9) and Kate (age 7) now had to face the news that their mommy was sick. After enduring three surgeries and countless medical appointments, throughout it all, Sarah told her family, “We can do hard things”.
In 2018, Maddy and Kate created their first lemonade stand to help raise money for other mommy’s with breast cancer. Since then, Maddy and Kate founded the MKS Cancer Foundation which has raised and donated over $33,500 for Breast Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Our first lemonade stand was created to support women like our mom who were battling breast cancer – we saw first-hand how tough it can be on families and on finances. Today, we continue to support this cause through MKS Cancer Foundation.
